Do Not Be Anxious About Anything...

Lord, when doubts fill my mind, when my heart is in turmoil, quiet me and give me a renewed hope and cheer.
Psalm:19 (Living Bible)

Anxiety is on the rise.  With newspaper headlines, TV reports, and the internet's constant banter, it's all you can do to keep fearful thoughts at bay.  Add to those worries the everyday cares you face, and the stress level is off the charts. The answer to anxiety is found in God's Word.
The psalmist of old was no stranger to difficulties in his life.  True enough, they were different from our trials that we face in 2021, but there is a sameness too. He faced injustice, prejudice, hatred, diseases, and tough economic times just like we do.  He asked God how long Israel's trials would last (Psalm 93:3).  He was weary of the battle against evil forces, but then he remembered that God was his fortress - the mighty rock where he could hide (Psalm 19:22).  The Lord was his refuge during anxious times.  He offers hope and cheer.
When your heart is heavy with burdens, you too can choose to rely on the One who loves you so.  Philippians 4:6-7 gives you the wisest advice on how to overcome those fearful emotions that tend to smoother your soul.
Do not be anxious about anything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Practice taking your cares to Jesus and experience the peace that only He can give even in the midst of life's storms. He's available 24/7 at no charge, and remember that you'll never get a busy signal or get put on hold when you call out to Him.
